**CTO 30 DAY NUTRITION CHALLENGE**
BRIEF: SUNDAY OCTOBER 27TH 9AM (contact Ryan or Andy if you can not make brief)
CHALLENGE DURATION: START – MONDAY OCTOBER 28TH , END - WEDNESDAY MORNING NOVEMBER 27TH
COST: FREE FOR ALL CTO MEMBERS
PALEO POTLUCK: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 2ND AT THE HALLOWEEN PARTY.
PRIMARY GOALS OF CHALLENGE:
#1 To provide an opportunity for our newer athletes to improve their eating habits and experience the health and performance benefits associated with proper nutrition.
#2 To give our experienced athletes a chance to recommit to their healthy nutritional practices before the holidays with the intentions of maintaining these habits long term.
MISSION – To eat as close as possible to the CrossFit nutrition recommendations. The statement below is the governing principles behind our challenge…
“Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.”
CHALLENGE RULES/WHAT WE ASK OUR PARTICIPANTS:
*Keep a food log. Log everything you eat. The good, the bad, and the ugly. No exceptions. It’s important that you check in with the coaches and share the information in your food log. That way we can provide constructive feedback on how to improve.
*Eat breakfast within 1 hour of waking up everyday.
*Eat 3 full meals and 1-2 snacks (protein shakes count as snacks) every day.
*No fast food, candy, energy drinks, soda, or artificial sweeteners.
*Keep alcohol to a minimum. No beer.
*At the end of the challenge we expect all finishers to submit a short testimonial detailing how they benefited from 30 days of high quality nutrition.
In past challenges we had everyone take before and after pictures and chose winners. This time we are mixing it up a bit. All participants that stick out the entire challenge, log everything they eat, and attempt to eat as clean as possible for 30 days will be designated as a challenge “finisher”. The challenge will culminate with a Hero Wod of the coaches’ choice at which point all finishers will be hooked up with some cool prizes and recognition at the box.
